*Location: Philadelphia, PA* *Duration: 6 months* *Interview Process: Technical Phone screen followed by face-to-face* We are seeking a seasoned data architect for a 6-month engagement to lead the data architecture of the Metro Ethernet and Cell Back Haul project. The contractor must excel in communication, design and delivery of complex models in very large data systems. S/he must be familiar with the strategies, concepts, rationale, challenges, and best practices of enterprise level data modeling, both logical and physical, in a large environment for OLTP and decision support systems. Relevant experience must include complex data modeling, project level database design, real-time and batch oriented data integration, data synchronization and database replication, data analysis, query optimization and tuning, knowledge of Internet and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts, and familiarity with multiple RDBMS platforms, database applications and database engineering in general. Specifically, the data architect contractor will - Work with the Network Architects to understand and document the Network Data Model for the Metro Ethernet and Cell Back Haul project. - Work with the Application Component Architects to obtain and understand applications data applications. Many applications may not have documented data models therefore reverse-engineering and documentation task may be required. - Make data architecture recommendations for impacted applications for refactoring and harmonizing the application data models. - Work with the application teams to revise the implementation roadmap of the data architecture supporting related applications and systems. Qualifications: - Deep business knowledge of telecommunication industry understanding. Relevant experience with large scale BSS/OSS implementations in a telecom company is preferred. - Knowledge of Metro Ethernet and Cell Back Haul of network and services. - High proficiency in PowerDesigner, ERwin or other data modeling tools, including modeling techniques and model management practice. - Previous Experience with end to end enterprise data modeling. - Working knowledge of LDAP and X.500 Directory.
