Position : *Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Must Hadoop)* Location : *San Jose, California* Duration : *6+ Months Possible to Extend* Experience : *12+ Yr’s of software development experience with 5+ years of experience as technical lead * *Description :* Client is currently Looking world-class professionals who share their "Innovation through Passion" philosophy and thrive in a fast-pace, cross team, results-driven environment, with focus on highly visible, challenging, and cross discipline projects. We are looking for senior staff level engineer to provide project team leadership to help drive our cloud innovation lab initiatives. In this role, you will design and evaluate complex products; complex systems architecture and/or computer software programs in conjunction other software product development in the company. You will be responsible to conduct complex product and system design simulations to test components, equipment and systems for operational performance. You will apply senior level knowledge, principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis. *Responsibilities:* • Design complex back-end systems architecture, products, and software programs to support phone/tablet/TV applications and services. • Write requirements and design documents and perform critical accuracy document review. • Initiate, recommend to management and defend proposals for courses of action and provide critical proposal review of system and product requirements. • Plan and coordinate meetings with other staff members to identify requirements, set standards, evaluate, analyze, and troubleshoot. • Conduct technical workgroup review sessions, make technical presentations and lead technical discussions. • Algorithm development, back-end automation, problem solving, scalability architecture and large scale open source data processing. • Provide mentorship and guidance to technical team members. • Work with leadership to define and improve development processes. *Required Skills* • MS or BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. • 12+ years of software development experience with 5+ years of experience as technical lead • Ability to solve complex problems in a fast paced and dynamic environment with focus on maintaining high quality and standards. • Ability to manage, plan, organize, assign and prioritize multiple engineering support assignments and projects as directed by the manager of the group and/or other departmental officers. • Demonstrated very high competency level in communication of technical information. • Able to communicate in writing, through email and reports, or orally complex technical matters to an audience of equal or higher level technical competency. • Ability todevelop and troubleshoot large scale distributed systems • Strong expertise in Java and Java basedtechnologies including strong hands-on skills • Extensive experience in web services and restful services • Extensive experience in developing multi-tiered Java web applications • Experience in SOA architecture and implementation *Desired skills* • Experience in Hadoop and Map/Reduce. • Experience inNoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Hbase, CouchDB, MongoDB • Experience in agile methodologies like Scrum.
