Hi Partner,

*Immediate Interview for this position.*

I have an *Extremely urgent* Priority REK with my client, Please share
profiles to *[email protected] <[email protected]>*

*Role: Senior IT Project Manager (IT Infrastructure/ IT Cyber security)*

*Location: Atlanta, GA*

*Duration: 12 Months Contract*

*Job Description:*

**straight PM - not BA/PMs or QA or Dev Mgr or Engagement Mgr or anything
like that - strictly PMs
**have to manage multiple, concurrent projects
**the want to see detail on the resume as to what they did - not what the
project was for - what were their responsibilities? they like to see scope,
schedule and cost (budget); very important to them on the cost side - must
be good at estimating the cost and managing to the cost - not letting
things get out of hand; must have led the project from beginning to end -
although their beginning is AFTER the requirements are done; need to assess
risks, complexity and the ability to deliver
**PMs are not involved in requirements - basically done by the business
unit but then they have to run it to completion
**they want to see that they plan, estimate the project, budgets and manage
resources in a "matrix" environment - they basically get people on loan and
need to manage their time allocations
**they report to Resource Manager, but also answer to the Business Unit -
their customer.
**they do a lot of 3rd party implementations so people that have experience
managing vendor relationships are good
**they list app and infrastructure, but really it is all apps. they just
need to understand what is needed from an infrastructure standpoint;
**all projects are waterfall - they do some iterative work within waterfall
but really waterfall
**managers typically manage 3-4 projects at a time; PMBOK methodology
**they use MS Project and Plan View - they expect people to know MS Project
**CULTURAL fit - probably 70% of the interview; they find that people from
BellSouth do well there - and some folks from Cox but not all groups and
they are not as good on cost management;
**need to be flexible, manageable, adaptable
**need to have tact, diplomacy - big company and can't just demand stuff,
or be aggressive - this will not work
**need to be customer service driven
**need to understand that they are NOT an IT shop - listen and deliver what
the customer wants
** At Southern Company, they are relationship and family oriented; need to
all work together
** Type of person? Need to take initiative and ask questions when needed -
don't be afraid, have confidence but know when you don't know something -
no one looks down on that - esp when you are new
