Here is the DB2 DBA requirement for our Madison, WI: 6 – 12 months contract This is contract Will be on call work at night - flexible Person needs to be comfortable in a data sharing environment Day to day work • Handle Misc ad hoc update requests – fix data • Problem determination – help developers figure what they really need and/or how to fix something • Performance tuning • If remote will use instance message so will be expected to be on line 5+ years. The Database Administrator is responsible for the database design and management. Competent individual capable of developing and executing database designs for highly complex products. Attributes: • 5 or more years experience in a database administration or database system programmer support role Within the last 2 years, demonstrated proficiency in: - Database technology required for the role: MS/SQL Server, MS Access, UDB on AIX, UDB on Intel or DB2 z/OS - Database modeling and design - Support of performance tuning or capacity planning initiatives • Working knowledge of ITIL (Infrastructure Technology Information Library) Framework Demonstrated proficiency with tools required for the role: - System Support: TMON, MQ Enterprise, PQ Edit, DBAXpert,, Princeton Softech, Quest Central Administration: DBAXpert, Quest Central, SQL Server Client, CAE Start Time: 12:00 AM Additional Job Details: DB2 z/OS V10 experience required Strong problem determination skills Strong SQL experiance and ability to performance tune SQL statements.
