*Position: QA Analyst/Engineer (experience in a financial firm a huge plus)* *Location: Waltham, MA* *Duration: 6+ Month Contract* *Max Rate: $40-42/hr* *Candidate must be GC or USC* *Preference is for local candidates but will be open to candidates on the east coast – NY, NJ, PA, MA, CT* Our client located in Waltham, MA is looking to add a QA Analyst that will work within Risk & Compliance and will have primary responsibility for quality assurance for projects developing product software features from planning phase through implementation to ensure end-user requirements are met. The group services many product lines across five Business Units (BUs) (Gains Keeper, Consumer Compliance, Financial Crime, Insurance, and Arc Logics). SQA Engineers work in a fast paced environment typically participating in 2 projects at any one time. Projects utilize Agile SDLC process. Releases occur anywhere from monthly to yearly depending on the product and BU. SQA Engineer activities include learning and maintaining a thorough understanding of all business unit products and process; assisting in the planning phase of SQA projects; managing and participating in the analysis, design, and test phases of SQA projects; engaging in overall project management of SQA projects; providing consistent communication with the SQA team and project team; assisting with technical support. *Essential Duties & Responsibilities:* Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of BU products, services and processes by engaging in formal and informal training; participating in self-directed learning; studying product Knowledge Acquisition documents; maintaining knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes, and best practices; establishing and maintaining competence in current and planned versions of products; working with actual product to establish and maintain competence in demonstrating, using, troubleshooting, and issue resolution; learning about the various service offerings available; learning the standard technical project plan and process and design standards and procedures; and understanding the use of industry tools and technology and their impact on project goals. · Assists in the planning phase of QA projects by collaborating with the project team (e.g., Development, Product Management, Project Management) to gain a thorough understanding of the project objectives and prioritizing steps; creating high-level test scenario outlines ensuring thorough testing of program logic and system flow; assisting the SQA Supervisor or Lead in determining extent of offshore resources necessary for project; reviewing outlines with project team; and obtaining sign-off on test scenario outlines. · Manages and participates in the analysis and design phases of QA projects by collaborating with off shore team to create test scenario and acceptance test outlines; creating test cases and acceptance tests in accordance to the outline; and ensuring test cases meet project objectives and conform to standards. · Manages and participates in the test phase of QA projects by executing test scripts for all testing (e.g., functional, positive and negative, installation, system, acceptance, regression testing), except automation testing ; reviewing testing results with lead; ensuring defects are documented and creating project defect matrices; engaging development and the business to address or provide feedback on issues; retesting software corrections to ensure problems are resolved; reporting back as issues are resolved; ensuring implementation of resolutions or workarounds for defects; performing regression and integration testing prior to releases, to ensure optimal functioning of feature as a whole; and obtaining sign-off to signify completion of the SQA phase. · Participates in the overall management of SQA projects by reporting SQA status at project meetings and on weekly updates; managing the processes and procedures within the SQA domain; employing standard project methodology and templates, customized for each project’s unique needs; adhering to project timelines and project plans · Serves as a subject matter expert on quality assurance issues by providing technical support on elevated issues relating to QA; sharing the knowledge of QA and areas of expertise with other staff; identifying recurring problems or defects; collaborating in ongoing decisions concerning QA design, processes and analysis; and participating in special projects related to testing. *Qualifications: * · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field of study · 3-5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance position · Developing test plans and executing test scripts. · Communicating accurately and professionally both orally and in written form. · Working in a dynamic, fast paced environment under time-sensitive deadlines. · Working well independently with minimal supervision while also functioning as an integral part of a team. · Working in distributed object oriented development using SQL Server. Preferred Experience (includes minimum): · Working in a web based n-tier development environment using COM+ and/or .NET. · Experience with offshore team members Minimum Knowledge: · English language Preferred Knowledge (includes minimum): · Familiar with structured or object-oriented lifecycle development practices (e.g., the unified process) · Agile methodologies · Experience executing Automated scripts using QTP and/or Selenium · Experience executing and scripting performance benchmark tests Tools: · Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
