Systems Administrator: 3 Months Job Category: Systems Administrator Location: Alexandria, VA Client is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Data Analytics division. This resource will perform quality analysis with minimum supervision and direction. The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise data systems. This resource serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Work will be performed at the client site in Alexandria, VA. CLEARANCE LEVEL: POSITION of TRUST/SUITABILITY REQUIREMENT: Please be aware that this position requires a U.S Government Public Trust/Suitability determination. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources. • Create and refine software road map including details for patching and upgrade schedules. Road map should including 3rd party tool version compatibility for database, ETL, Web Servers, java, web browsers, client tools etc. Provide summarized software release notes for future BOE and DS release highlighting bug fixes and known issues. • Provide upgrade strategy for reporting objects such as reports, dashboards, ETL jobs and dependent database objects. Strategy should include gathering inventory of stock and custom application objects, regression test scripts and validation artifacts. • Manage Data Services server installations for dev, test and production environments, including code promotion strategy involving local and central repositories. • Tasks include creating/updating Job Servers and Access Servers. Managing daily schedules. Creating and maintaining effective Server Groups to optimize cluster resources. • Manage SAP Business Objects server environment across DEV, TEST and Production. Promote reports, users, dashboards, security and universes to upper environments. • Create and implement scalable security strategy utilizing Access Levels and inheritance. Maintain server uptime, monitor host CPU and memory utilization. Provide host sizing details for future disk and processing growth. • Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: N/A EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or related job • Experience installing and maintaining server applications including web servers. • Experience deploying web applications specifically to Apache Tomcat. • Understanding of SAP Business Objects and Data Services architecture. • Experience deploying SAP Business Objects in a standalone and clustered environment.
