Site Reliability Engineer (mid level)
Seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure high availability and low
latency of our Encirca platform. The Site Reliability Engineer will
collaborate heavily with support teams, software development teams, and
operations teams to solve complex problems in our production systems while
developing systems to identify and mitigate system issues before they
impact end users.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned software engineer with a deep
understanding of traditional data center infrastructure as well as cloud
services. The Site Reliability Engineer must be able to work tactically and
urgently to solve complex, high visibility production issues but also think
strategically in order to implement solutions that proactively identify and
resolve system issues. Due to the high visibility of this position,
excellent communication skills are required.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to build high performance multi-platform
applications and robust APIs in an agile environment
- Experience working in teams with a DevOps culture and not afraid to
jump into the tech stack where needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with a mixture of the following technologies is required -
- AWS (EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, SQS, etc) or similar cloud
platforms
- REST APIs in Python or C#
- Chalice for serverless microservice development
- AngularJS, TypeScript, HTML5, Javascript, CSS3
- Swift for iOS or Java for Android
- PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or another RDBMS
- Jenkins DSL for CI, Fastlane for mobile CD
- GIS development MapBox, Leaflet, RasterIO, GDAL
- Automated testing including unit, integration, API, contract, and
end-to-end testing
- Ability to review architecture, design, and code to ensure adherence
to vision, standards, and quality
Bring critical thinking and new ideas to the team in order to contribute to
the continued evolution and improvement of our systems
