Please find the requirements currently open. ** * Ruby on Rails Developer NYC,NY 6 month Contract 42/hr Job Summary: The Application Developer is responsible for developing key components of our clients web sites. This person will work on a team of developers implementing software. This person should have a strong working knowledge of Ruby on Rails development and agile/scrum development methodologies. The projects will be fast paced and technically rewarding. The person will collaborate with other groups including business clients, front-end developers, template developers and infrastructure/system developers. In addition, this person must be able to work across multiple facets of the project and juggle multiple responsibilities at the same time. The individual must have strong analytic capability and the ability to create innovative solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is looking to grow their career in a fast paced environment. Key Responsibilities: * Work with business clients to help gather business requirements and recommend, design and develop appropriate technical solutions. * Communicate with Lead Developers, Database team and networking staff to understand proposed infrastructure and then develop plan to implement and deploy software based on those guidelines. * Help develop and maintain strong coding practices throughout the development team, with a focus on testing and quality. * Produce test scripts and procedures that will verify changes are properly made to the system and are fully regression tested. * Maintain clean system architecture throughout software lifecycle by test driven development, analyzing the impact of changes on the system, and refactoring. * Work well with other developers (pair programming, code reviews, etc.) * Develop a high degree of business functional knowledge to help guide solutions. * Document requirements and designs and keep documentation up-to-date. * Assist in project planning and help coordinate between developers, business clients, and infrastructure teams throughout the course of a project.
