They want a big hitter senior DB2 DBA who can come in and help take their DB2 maturity to the next level. Candidate will evaluate their current environment and then suggest and help implement ways to improve the environment including automated monitoring and maintenance activities that they could be doing. Candidate should be an expert in tuning parallel *DB2 databases *in *Data Warehousing* and *adhoc query* environments including tuning DB2 for ETL load processes. Should have expert knowledge in implementing DB2 best practices for indexing, DB2 statistics, DB2 monitoring, query optimization and ongoing parallel DB2 database maintenance, monitoring and tuning. Past experience should include implementing Range Partitioning, *MQTs and MDCs*in a parallel DB2 database. Experience with DB2 9.5. Candidate will mentor existing staff. Candidate will also be able to look at their models and suggest any improvements to help optimize the IDS (Integrated Data Store) for the adhoc queries against it.
