Create, clone and support database for transaction intensive OLTP and batch processing data warehouse database from few giga bytes to 2 tera bytes in size. • Manages partitioned tables, indexes, transportable tablespace, database files, undo management, materialized views, refresh groups, database links, sequences, synonyms and store procedures. • Design and implement backup and recovery strategy and scripts in various scenarios while database is in archivelog or noarchivelog mode using different methods like RMAN, tablespace backup, datapump, export, import and cold backup. • Performance monitoring and tuning of application query response time, database system global area, system I/O, undo management and resource consumption using self developed scripts, GRID, explain plan, SQL trace, tkprof, AWR, snapshot and statspack reports and third party tools. • Configures UNIX kernel parameters, environment variables, account, group, permission, ssh, cron, ASM partitions and nfs mounts, VI editor, sar, truss, sed, awk usage and installs RPM packages. • UNIX shell scripting for startup, shutdown, backup, restore, data load, system and database monitoring, failover, purge, report generation, object maintenance, auto ftp and nfs mount.
