Position: *Core Java developers* Location: Stamford CT Duration: 6 – 12 Months + Extendable Core Java Programming and general technology orientation. Would expect them to know - Design Patterns and how to write them in Java. Familiarity with writing efficient Java code - using primitives, synchronization across multiple threads/etc. Good sense for class design - when to use an interface and when to a Class. Track record of having designed and implemented good Java classes. Familiarity with memory management in Java and how this has changed over various versions of JDK/etc. On the Linux front - sense for OS and how it works - process run/start/stop/functioning and ability to support. Sense for source code control, development and test driven development. Production release and deployment management. Database - sense for queries and SQL. Transactions/etc - sense for normalization/etc. The usual stuff - would expect a person who has spent years working as a hands-on person on the Linux/Java environment to be automatically/organically familiar with this.
