Candidates must first take a on-line C# and a SQL test and achieve a certain
score to proced in the process.



*Key responsibilities include:*

·  Identify system improvements (Defects, Enhancements) by investigating
errors and analysing technical processes to understand particular system
behaviour

·  Discover and document system processes and current design.  Understand
the current technical and business environment

·  Working with the Technical Architects and Business Analysts to produce
effective migration strategies

·  Executing agreed migration strategies (e.g. modifying scripts and code,
installing applications on new servers, executing test plans, reconfiguring
batch processes)

·  Development of support documentation for hand-over to the production
support teams

·  Establishing strong relationships with business users and IT teams

·  Designing new strategic platforms and improvements to existing platforms.

·  Building best practice change management infrastructure – test
environments, automated testing, continuous integration

·  Understands enterprise integration technologies – with view on the pros

·  Understand enterprise data and best practice prinicples around data
cleansing, data maintenance, golden source data, and data distribution to
downstream applications.

·  Strong programming experience in at least one object oriented language –
C++, C# or Java.

·  Strong scripting experience – preferably Perl, regex, and Windows
Scripting

·  Strong messaging experience – XML, FIX, SWIFT.

·  Strong database and SQL experience - with a clear understanding of things
that could Impact application performance.

·  Powerbuilder, Presto, Autosys are a plus.

·  Disciplined in issue tracking and documentation for each piece of work
performed.

·  Is able to adapt to different project styles – from detailed
specifications to agile story definition and implementation, without
compromising on quality.

·  Understands importance of communication and is able to communicate
effectively to a wide audience and in varying circumstances.

·  Has good time management – and is able to participate in estimation and
actual logging of tasks – with a view to improving the team’s estimate
accuracy.

·  Is a motivated individual – always striving to improve their skillset
(without supervision) and keep informed of best practices in the industry.

·  Has experience working in the front office of the funds management
industry or another trading organization, and clearly understands the trade
lifecycle.

Essential to the role are:

·  Strong communication skills

·  Strong database skills in either SQL Server or Sybase

·  Strong programming background

·  Ability to engage in design discussions

·  Proven analytical skills, e.g. as a programmer or support specialist

·  Excellent problem solving abilities and sound technical skills

·  A strong appreciation of key business drivers and an understanding of the
IT impact upon the business are required

*Phone Screen Questions - Basics***

1.  *Coding. *The candidate has to write some simple code with correct
syntax in C++, C# or Java.

2.  *OO design*. The candidate has to define basic OO concepts, and come up
with classes to model a simple problem.

3.  *Scripting and regexes* The candidate has to be able to articulate how
to solve a scripting problem, for example: searching x files for y.

4.  *Data structures. *The candidate has to demonstrate basic knowledge of
the most common data structures

5.  Database.  The candidate must be able to answer simple questions about
SQL syntax, and the do’s and dont’s of databases in general – or a specific
vendor’s database (based on resume).
