Required Skills
Database Administration and System Monitoring - Comprehensive and practical
knowledge of the following:
Extensive experience with system and application troubleshooting, upgrades,
workload management, performance tuning, recovery, and capacity planning of
the Teradata Database 12/13 in a MP-RAS/Linux environment
Support and implementation of tools and utilities such as Fastload,
FastExport, Multiload, TPump, Teradata Parallel Transporter (TPT), Data
Mover, Viewpoint, Arcmain including Cluster archives
Serve as an expert consultant to application developers to provide expertise
on SQL, Macros, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and AJIs/JIs.
Strong knowledge of Teradata database administration best practices required
Interface with the latest BIDW technologies such as Cognos, SAS, DataStage
Fundamental knowledge of operating systems and system development
Communication/Personal – Strong demonstration of the following:
Ability to multi-task under minimum supervision
Detail-oriented and good follow-up skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with project management
and planning experience
Capable to interface closely with internal/external customers and advice on
database solutions
