Description
As a Solutions Architect you will be the most senior technical member of a
software development team. You will be responsible for managing a team of
developers through the entire software development lifecycle to ensure the
delivery high quality software solutions. You will be responsible for the
"big picture" and take an active, multi-disciplinary governance role on
software development projects. This will involve formulating the solution
for a project, oversight of design, development, and testing, as well as
planning the packaging and ultimate deployment of the solution.
Responsibilities
� Lead numerous software development projects (product development, client
implementation, and platform innovation)
� Lead technical teams through entire software development lifecycle
� Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Portico platform
� Develop subject matter expertise in provider management
� Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor with key internal and
external stakeholders
� Forge relationships with and influence clients� senior technical staff
� Analyze architecture requirements and design technical solutions
� Advise on technical architecture and deployment options
� Collaborate on analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
decisions with Portico�s consulting and engineering teams to ensure the
quality and consistency of Portico�s software
� Provide technical assistance, mentorship and guidance to technical project
team members
� Accountable for software development project planning, management, and
quality
� Develop a thorough understanding of the organization�s technology goals
and objectives
Position Requirements
Knowledge & Experience
� Thorough understanding of enterprise software architecture, internet
technologies, IT systems, and infrastructure
� Knowledge of the health insurance industry and provider management
discipline is a big plus
� Knowledge of payer, hospital, and physician practice core systems a big
plus
� Experience designing and developing high-performance web applications
� Experience working in and managing the entire software development
lifecycle (SDLC)
� Expertise in estimating, planning, and managing software development
projects
� Strong understanding of project management principles and processes
� Strong application design skills (UML) and understanding of enterprise
software design patterns
� Thorough understanding of object-oriented software principles
� Experience with markup languages (XML, HTML, CSS)
� Experience with scripting languages (Javascript, Jython)
� Experience with Java technologies (JSP, Servlets, Applets, EJB, Swing,
JDBC)
� Experience with relational database design and modeling
� Experience with SQL database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server,
MySQL, PostgreSQL)
� Experience with enterprise application integration
� Experience installing and configuring enterprise software
� In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws,
including HIPAA
� 5+ years experience in full project lifecycle covering of large scale
Object Oriented systems or vendor package implementations in a consulting
environment
� Bachelors or Masters degree; Computer Science, Engineering or Management
Information Systems
