*Senior Java Developer* *Columbia, MD* *Full Time* * * *Only Green Cards and Citizens please!!!* * * * * *Role:* We are looking for the right individual to join our team and provide technical stewardship for our Long Term Investor systems. The Technical Consultant is responsible for performing a variety of roles in the development of our Long Term Investor platform with minimal oversight. The individual will be responsible for providing technical guidance to the development team to ensure quality designs/implementations, application of best practices, and testable code. In addition, the individual will work with our business partners to understand their needs and ensure the systems are designed and implemented to support both immediate and long term objectives *Responsibilities:* • Participates in client interactions and business partner discussions, independently, to develop system solutions to business problems. • Works within established procedures to develop, test, implement, and maintain application software. Recommends improvements to established processes, develops implementation plans, and assists in rollout. • Participates in, and initiates improvements to established team processes, design, and coding standards, and influences others to adopt. • Redesigning multiple systems into a single platform that that is highly scalable and robust. • Troubleshooting and problem resolution of critical issues that may involve many systems and platforms, within a complex infrastructure. • Performs analysis/design tasks of a very high complexity which may require extensive research and analysis and documentation. • Provides mentoring to team members • Participates in production support and on-call rotations. *Requirements:* • 8+ years of Java experience developing J2EE based systems with 3+ years working on large complex systems. • Comprehensive working knowledge of Java 5 or higher • Comprehensive working knowledge of JBoss & Websphere application servers • Comprehensive working knowledge of Spring, JDBC, & SQL • Comprehensive working knowledge of asynchronous (JMS) processing. • Strong analytical and design skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
