POSITION: C# Developer REPORTS TO: Software Development Supervisor, Software Development Manager, Sr. Software Development Manager POSITION PURPOSE Lead development design and implementation of C# components of a project to streamline and simplify the tool which is used to manage day-to-day operations of Magic Online, improving overall efficiency while minimizing public facing errors. This position is for a senior developer who will also provide expertise in WCF, web services, and ASP.MVC or equivalent in a small team of senior developers creating robust, usable, high-quality software solutions to manage and support the popular high-transaction Magic Online game system and community. KEY RELATIONSHIPS Other software developers, Software Architect, Software Development Management, QA, Project Managers Supervises: None, but depending on skills may also serve as lead for part of development team. JOB DUTIES Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities: . Design and implement web services layer from specifications . Extend existing WCF link to proprietary server . Design and implement data access and caching classes . Design and implement business logic to support defined use cases . This position will be the glue between the UI and the database . Expected to learn and understand the problem area, and the architecture of the new tool. . Provide reasonable and accurate estimates of time and materials required to complete vision and scope goals as directed. . Effectively interact and participate on small team of senior developers and architects, contributing to design discussions, code and architectural reviews, and troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple components, environments, and platforms. . Perform literate programming, using adequate commenting and documentation tools and in alignment with software development team best practices . Adopt industry standard and team-specific coding practices, and follows internal SDLC procedures . Work under general supervision . Diagnose and proactively propose solutions for software issues across the system, and in particular within regularly encountered components. . As appropriate, mentor and guide other team members, to improve in quality and effectiveness . Embrace Test Driven Development, including design and implementation of unit tests Secondary Functions: As assigned Financial Management None QUALIFICATIONS . 3+ years recent C# development experience (.NET Framework 4.0 or later) - Multi-Threading experience - Experience writing web services and ASP.MVC or equivalent other Microsoft technology - Experience calling stored procedures from C# - Experience working with industry standard IDEs - Experience working with industry standard source control systems - Experience working with industry standard defect tracking systems - Commitment to industry standard code practices and literate programming style - Windows Services experience a plus . 2+ years WCF development experience . Object-oriented design experience . Experience with SQL - Calling stored procedures efficiently from C# - Writing queries in T-SQL . JavaScript experience desired . C++, Linux experience a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: . Strong English written and verbal communication . Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people .
