Description: This position will be joining a team of 4 other developers, 2 Quality Control, and 1 Business Analyst. The candidate will be working extensively 100% back end Java Development as well as Socket Programming applications. *Primary Responsibilities:* - Create/modify modules that read from and write to various data sources, such as real time data feeds, files, and databases. - Model and implement new business requirements into the scalable and high performing Oracle, Netezza, and GreenPlum database designs. - Be part of a team of developers on refactoring other parts of the system. - Estimate given tasks, discuss design with technical lead, and follow implementation strategy. - Participate in peer code reviews, code management, testing, and other well-defined development procedures. - Contribute and produce technical documentation as assigned by the project technical lead. - Conform to company standards for code development, maintenance, and management. - Follow software development lifecycle communicating activity through ticket tracking system. *Functional Skills:* - Very high attention to detail – most of this work is reproducing functionality currently implemented in one technology into another.
