Kindly let me know your comforts on the following position and please do reply me with your updated resume [email protected] *Position: Oracle PL/SQL, DBA* * Location: El Segundo, CA Duration: 8 months * *Description:* The 'development DBA and SQL tuning expert' is a key role responsible for ensuring system performance is well within the defined limits and addresses performance bottlenecks by optimizing SQLs and making schema changes. Also administers and maintains development databases and provides support to development teams to ensure all SQLs have optimal execution. The ideal candidate has a strong hands-on experience in SQL tuning on large OLTP databases, is familiar with Siebel development environment, and is analytical and detailed oriented. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, working with designers, managers, SQA teams and Operations. Responsibilities: Evaluates impacts of the SQL on overall system performance and provides solutions for optimization Tune SQLs developed by development team (manual tuning) to ensure optimal execution Analyze and recommend schema changes for optimal database performance Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues in multiple environments (such as development and SQA). Also to provide assistance in resolving performance issues in production database Manage multiple Oracle 10g databases in development environment including administration and maintenance Develop, maintain and execute scripts for large scale data extraction, transition and loading Develop, maintain and execute data archiving and purging scripts, procedures and shell scripts Data modeling using Erwin Support development, SQA and Operations teams during production deployments Analyze current operational procedures, identify problems and recommend solutions for optimization *Qualifications:* Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in SQL tuning. (60: 40-20) Experience in database administration is desired, but can be scaled up. (20:10-10) Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle data dictionary (Implicitly covered in point 1). Experience on SQL loader and data pump (Good to have, but can be scaled up). (5: 0-5) Familiarity with AWR analysis.(5: 2-5) Hands-on experience on PL/SQL programming. (Good to have, but can be scaled up) (5: 1-2) Unix Shell scripting. (5: 2-5) Ability to work with multiple teams in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group setting.
