Please find the requirement currently open. *Technical Lead (Ruby/Open Source Specialist)* Duration: 2 yrs Location: NY/NJ Rates : $50/hr *Face2Face Interview Must* Client needs a Technical Lead (Ruby / Open Source Specialist) who has considerable expertise in Open Source architecture/solutions and excellent hands- on application development skills in Ruby On Rails, PHP, HTML5, MySQL, Linux and related technologies, to analyze requirement specifications, build application prototypes, perform high level system design, develop application modules, integrate/test/deploy vendor-developed codebase in quality assurance/performance/production environments and lead/collaborate with functional/technical/vendor teams to implement the next generation Sign Information Management System (SIMS). The new web-based, workflow-enabled asset management system will integrate signs, work orders, other work entities and internal/external datasets with City’s standard GIS map, and will replace the legacy mainframe-based STATUS sign management system. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered. • BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred. • 8-12 years of total experience in object oriented design, development, testing and deployment of mission critical business applications, at least 7 of which are in a web/client-server environment. • 6+ years of enterprise/solution/application architecture experience in designing medium-to-large scale business solutions and leading/mentoring technical teams. • 8+ years of hands-on development experience with projects involving the full stack of Ruby on Rails with other Open Source technologies such as Ruby, RVM, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, LeafletJS, jQuery, DataTables, Bootstrap, AngularJS, BackboneJS, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache, Tomcat, Linux, Ubuntu, Redis and Memcache. • Experience in business intelligence metrics and reports using Jasper, Pentaho or BIRT • Experience in build and integration with RESTful or SOAP-based APIs. • Experience with configuration management, continuous integration, version control, testing and document management with Open Source tools such as GIT/GITHUB, RSpec, Silk Test, PivotalTracker and Jira. • Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks. • Experience in all phases of SDLC and standard SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, RUP, Agile/SCRUM to deliver client solutions. • Experience in UML/Rational tools or other design tools. • Strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills. • Good communication, presentation and leadership skills. • Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams. • Ability to work on multiple projects as team lead. • Ability to understand business requirements and estimate for delivery commitments. • Utilize application development environments, tools and methodologies across multiple platforms. • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications. *DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE* • Technically proficient in more than one language and platform. • Expertise and knowledge of building large-scale information systems. • Experience in GIS tools and map integration. • Experience in Wireless/Mobile/Disconnected architecture/applications. • Application design expertise with large workflow management systems. • Working knowledge in Business Intelligence and Decision Support Systems. • Prior experience in federal/state/local government projects. • Prior experience in working with asset management system development.
