*Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Engineer*
*Location: Chicago ,IL Contract Duration: 6+ Months *
*Description: *JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: IAAI is looking for a candidate
with a solid background in System Center Operations Manager to assist with
our implementation. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot all
aspects of SCOM effectively and understand the product configuration. The
candidate should fully understand the base OS, SCOM, Active Directory,
Exchange, IIS, .NET, and SQL Management Packs, including configuration,
tuning and customization. The SCOM Engineer will be responsible for
collaborating with Windows systems engineers, application developers, and
internal support teams to determine requirements for filters, events,
alerts, and dashboards. He/She will utilize verbal and written
communication skills to maintain accurate system documentation and provide
project management support as required.
*Qualifications: *EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from
an accredited institution and five (5) years of related experience is
required. Project Management experience is desired, but not required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with the configuration and administration of Microsoft System
Center Operations Manager 2012
Configuring Management Packs
Deploying Management Pack solutions
Configuring distributed applications and dashboards
Tuning of existing deployments
Configuration of reporting and alerting
Work through overrides
- Experience in application/network performance monitoring and availability
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of shell scripting
- Self-starter, motivated, organized, detail oriented
- Skills transfer with technical teams
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with System Center Service Manager
- Experience with System Center Orchestrator
- Active Directory
- Using Microsoft Windows PowerShell to automate tasks with System Center
Operations Manager
- Customizations beyond the standard management packs
