This position will help build a robust Enterprise OLTP data platform that supports our critical Enterprise applications. The successful candidate will be challenged to quickly come up to speed and become self-sufficient, supporting various business projects. Successful implementation will have a direct impact on the success of our customer facing application and web sites, and help Dish continue its rapid growth. The ideal candidate has a strong PL/SQL Development background, with experience in processing large volumes of data. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a team to help implement the vision for Dish's Data Architecture Roadmap, and gain broad experience in technologies and many diverse subject domains including Customer Master Data, IVR data, PCI/SOX relevant data, Customer Satisfaction, and Account Billing data Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories: • Develop Oracle PL/SQL code Data Access Layers for use by client applications. • Work closely with development teams to ensure successful implementation. • Develop data migration scripts for large volume datasets. • Conduct performance tuning where necessary. • Provide post implementation and on-going production support. • Manage reference data stored in Oracle DBs. A successful PL/SQL Developer will have the following: • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related work experience with 3+ years of IT experience. • Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills. • Experience with a relational database such as Oracle, or MS SQL Server. • Data Analysis skills • Self starter who takes initiative to find a solution to a business problem. • Must be flexible to work in a highly dynamic environment. • Excellent communication skills - must be able to quickly communicate the key message at the appropriate level for the audience.
