This role will maintain ongoing awareness of enterprise capabilities and applications. This Systems Analyst will assess new project requests against an enterprise application roadmap and will help shape solutions in the early stages of demand management. This will be done by understanding technical options which fulfill the business objective, possible future solution extensions and organization and system involvement. This knowledge should be used to provide direction and guidance to project teams in the delivery of key initiatives and will be expected to work collaboratively with other core team members to define comprehensive enterprise solutions within a highly integrated and complex technical environment. This role will be working directly with business partners to review significant proposed strategic work and will drive out technical components of the solution resulting in the creation of a conceptual design. This Systems Analyst will also play a key role to educate and guide project level Systems Analysts through project design to ensure adherence to the solution vision. * Help establish the SMCE Solution Design organization by driving out the creation of a SMCE application roadmap and participating in a test and learn effort to establish organization processes. * Provides extensive technology and business expertise regarding Allstate’s technical areas and maintains a detailed understanding of the SMCE application roadmap. Ensure the accuracy and currency of SMCE technology roadmaps and act as a steward to champion strategic solutions and industry standards within and outside of this individuals own BPO. * Review significant proposed work within SMCE; provide rationale for pursuing an initiative and help identify the relevant components that lead to the creation of a comprehensive conceptual design with the elimination of redundancies, and simplification of applications and their interactions in mind. * Establish key technical assumptions and provide leadership in the creation of large-scale, complex project estimates for projects requiring oversight or consulting from the Solution Design team. * Oversees and governs other Systems Analysts through project design and development, to promote good health and disposition of the projects and provides boundaries that project teams must stay within. Ensures critical technical components are included within a highly complex and diverse environment. * Provide appropriate oversight to confirm requirements, oversee design, and ensure delivery of design deliverables of other Systems Analysts. * Advocate and implement technology strategies from which appropriate frameworks are built, platform and vendor updates are facilitated and application replacement/retirements decisions are made. * Understand architectural and platform strategies and ensure these requirements are met through project roadmap oversight and release management. Create high-level technical designs for highly complex projects by analyzing and tracing designs to requirements (business and functional) and systems architecture. * Participate in all Solution Design reviews to ensure solutions align to the technology roadmaps, they are simple, reusable and maintainable.
