Expert in design, analysis, development, implementation and
administration of MS SQL server 2000, 2005 and 2008 databases. Expert in
implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Log
shipping, data replication. Experienced with DB performance monitoring, DB
recovery, and DB change management.
*Nice to have skills*
SQL Server 2012, with Always-On. Out of box thinking and creative
solutions to solve technical problems. Experience with virtualization
technologies is a big plus.
*Overview:*
SQL Server DBA to install/setup/deliver and support Microsoft SQL Server
databases and applications. We are re-architecting some of our very large
mission critical SQL server databases to accommodate transaction growth. We
are looking for a SQL Server guru to provide technical expertise and
hands-on support for this project. Database Engineer & Architect who can
design, develop, and implement SQL server solutions for complex projects.
Provide technical expertise in all aspects of database implementation life
cycle from sizing, capacity planning, design, and implementation. Physical
implementation of databases, storage structures, high-availability
solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions. Provide inputs in
defining database standards and best practices for advanced monitoring and
troubleshooting, performance tuning and automation Provide guidance and
direction to Level-2 Production database operations team. *If you have
years and years of experience designing, engineering and supporting mission
critical SQL servers and you are seeking an opportunity to redesign very
large databases to accommodate growing transaction volumes, and you excel
in working with a team of specialists working on pushing the boundaries of
SQL server, we want to talk to you.*
*Major Job Duties and Responsibilities*:
· Provide MS SQL database engineering and administration support
for MS SQL databases.
· Participate in technical reviews, plan for minimal downtime
during migration, document detailed migration plans, implement the
migration plan, and provide troubleshooting during actual migration efforts.
*Experience*:
· *Expert in design, analysis, development, implementation and
administration of MS SQL server 2000, 2005 and 2008 databases. *
· *Expert in implementing high availability and disaster recovery
solutions such as Log shipping, data replication. Minimum of 8 years’
experience working as MS SQL Server DBA supporting mission critical
applications.*
· Experience with federation architecture, partition schemes, and
parallel data warehouse is a big plus.
· Experience with virtualization technologies is a big plus.
· *Experienced with DB performance monitoring, DB recovery, and DB
change management.*
· Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills,
customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
· Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time
(Required)
