*Job Title: *Scrum Master with DW/BI *Location:* Livingston, NJ Currently there is one Scrum Master in this organization. This position is part of a new initiative. Position just became approved. Will be working on BI/DW related projects. Will be part of the team that is helping to transform CIT from waterfall to Agile. Great team environment, good organization that is changing and looking to continue to improve. Not looking for PM's that have done some Agile - looking for true Scrum Masters. Will be running possibly two Agile teams of 6 people. • Not looking for a Project Manager disguised as a Scrum Master • Experience in Scrum with Data/BI initiatives is very valuable • Certified Scrum Professional is a plus • Financial or Healthcare (regulated entity) experience is helpful • The key here is deep experience with implementing and executing Scrum in a waterfall oriented environment, effecting change and leading people to a deeper understanding of the why of agile and Scrum, as well as the what. Position Description (Summary and Essential Duties) The Scrum Master will perform organizational and support activities for complex, high-profile programs and projects, working with cross-functional IT teams and Product Owners to deliver business solutions and to provide expert guidance to self-organizing teams in the areas of Scrum leveraging iterative planning, agile execution techniques, and cross-team coordination. Responsibilities: - Facilitates and coaches Scrum projects. Ability to serve as Scrum Master for multiple scrum teams - Facilitates Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospective - Ensures that Backlog Refinement is ongoing and productive - Coordinates and participates in Scrum of Scrums - Ensures that impediments and distractions are removed - Understands and communicates team velocity and progress of Release & Sprint - Maintains information radiators that keep stakeholders and Scrum Team informed - Capable of delivering ongoing improvement in variable environments as a change agent - Coaches team to become self-organized and able to deliver reliably at a high level of quality - Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution amongst team members. Excellent communication and facilitative skills - Assists the Product Owner with keeping the backlog refined - Operates as an active member of internal Agile Community of Practice, including teaching and evangelizing - Responsible for the implementation of Scrum. Guides the team to adopt and adhere to the Scrum framework - Leads and coaches the organization in Scrum adoption - Understands and demonstrates Agile principles and values - Consistently demonstrate CIT’s values Minimum Required Skills and Experience: - 3 to 5 years of professional experience as Scrum Master - Scrum Master certified - Two years’ experience with Agile management tools (TFS, Greenhopper/Jira, Rally or Version One) - SME in regards to successful application of agile and lean techniques - Proficient in Lean/Agile/Scrum tools (including packaged and/or ad-hoc tools and techniques) - In-depth knowledge of the Scrum framework - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
