Summary:
· Reviews and maintains security, backup and recovery procedures
for all supported platforms.
· Responsible for
· troubleshooting various distributed systems on multiple platforms.
· Design, contribute, develop, test, maintain and
· fully document all configuration and operational processes and
procedures.
· Provide support with implementation
· of new or updated applications, and the testing of new systems.
Provide Storage Area Network
· (SAN) services by configuring storage and SAN switching.
· Works as lead in the implementation of new projects in
· relation to distributed environment and as part of a
cross-functional project team.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Systems administration within all aspects of Windows server,
· virtualization, storage, development of technical standards,
authentication, security, and day to day
· support.
· Support VMWare 5.1 to 6.1 and above
· Maintain and support software release across distributed system
platforms.
· Implement vendor software, hardware patches, and security patches
using these platforms.
· Oversee the management and resolution of all internal Helpdesk
requests.
· Maintain network and system security.
· Make recommendations for future upgrades.
· Monitor networks to ensure availability to specific users using
solar winds.
· Create and manage patch management policies and procedures.
· Design and support infrastructure directory services, such as
· Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP authentication, group policy,
DNS, DHCP, PKI/Certificates and IPSec.
· Oversee capacity planning and analyze system performance,
implement
· improvements, event alerts, and availability reporting.
· Review the current state environment and recommend changes on
· technology and process methodologies. Lead efforts to identify
and recommend new hardware/software
· technologies.
· Assist with any other Infrastructure duties and tasks that may be
required.
· Work a modified schedule as needed to perform after hour
maintenance
· or deployments of new software or hardware.
· Participate in scheduled disaster recovery exercises and on-call
24/7
· coverage on a rotational basis.
· Participate in security audits, perform tasks for compliance, and
· prepare documents on findings for annual audits. Follow industry
standard security policies to secure the
· infrastructure.
Hardware deployment
· Responsible for Website PCI compliance
· Essential/Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and
Experience:
· Minimum of 3-7 years of experience supporting Windows, Storage
and VMware experience.
· Experience with Windows server administration, database
administration (SQL) and Windows workstation
· configuration.
· IIS support – Upgrading websites to latest version and Migrate
sites from legacy to new version of OS.
· Strong knowledge and experience in the following areas: patch
· management, anti-virus suites, clustering, OS upgrades, security,
system monitoring, and virtual
· environments.
· In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003, 2008 and 2012
operating
· systems, VMware ESX Server in a heterogeneous environment.
· MS SQL Server Database, Analytics and Reporting is a plus.
· Experience in Administering and configures IIS websites.
· Knowledge of automation and scripting preferred.
· Strong organizational abilities and be capable of managing
multiple
· priorities while maintaining a professional customer service
attitude.
· High sense of urgency and accountability.
· Strong analytical ability and skill in problem solving.
· Good verbal and written communication skills with IT
professionals,
· vendors, and users.
Strong Time Management skills
· Certifications, Licensing, Education, Experience and Other
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or
· Management Information Systems or related field preferred or
commensurate experience.
· 4+ years of progressive experience.
· Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft
Certified Engineer (MCSE) preferred.
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) is a plus
