Guna fan adalah untuk mendinginkan permukaan IC yang panas. Kalau fan nya berhenti, berarti proses pendinginan berhenti dan berarti panas yang dihasilkan oleh IC tidak bisa dikeluarkan dan akan segera hang atau malahan rusak total.
