Topic to be covered
The Basic‘s of Business Intelligence (BI)
Business Intelligence comprises a wide range of elements; most organizations
have invested in some of them already and now need to decide which aspects to
focus on.
Key Issues:
- What are the basic components of BI and how do you map them to
current market offerings?
- How do you rationalize the dynamics of the Business Intelligence
market against your existing software investments in order to deliver an
optimal BI portfolio?
The Basics of Data Warehousing
The Data Warehouse (DW) is the foundation of BI. Organizations must
understand what a DW is, how to build it and what types of workloads it
supports.
Key Issues:
- What are the different structures that can exist in a DW and how
do they affect the optimization of the DW?
- What are the underlying technologies?
- What options are available from the major vendors?
Analytics: Integrating Business Insight with Business Processes
Business Intelligence and Business Processes are two of the most important
areas of focus and investment for CIO’s and line of business managers. When
combined, they offer the potential for improved performance through optimized
and tailored business processes in all areas of the business.
This session will cover best practices for justifying and the managing the
integration of the two
Key Issues:
- What will be the business drivers for the integration of analysis
with business processes, what value will be achieved and how will it be
measured?
- What factors will lead to the successful deployment of analytics
into business processes
- How will the market and vendor evolve?
- OLAP (On- Line Analytical Processing)
Data Mining Improves Decisions Making
Data mining uncovers patterns in data using predictive techniques. These
patterns play a critical role in decision making because they reveal areas for
process improvement. Using data mining, organizations can increase the
profitability of their interactions with customers, detect fraud, and improve
risk management.
The patterns uncovered using data mining help organizations make better and
timelier decisions.
Key Issues:
- What is the benefit of using Data Mining?
- Most analysts separate data mining software into two groups: data
mining tools and data mining applications
- How well the Data Mining Techniques will be helping in solving any
business problem
Future of Business Intelligence and Information Management: Activities,
Competencies and Organizations
Business intelligence and information management have emerged as a top
strategic initiative to increased focus on how organizations use information to
meet key business objectives. However, supporting the information access,
delivery, analysis and performance management requirements of diverse users is
becoming more challenging and complex, particularly as organizations seek to
integrate structured data and unstructured content. This session will focus on
key activities and best practices
Key issues:
- How will business intelligence and information management evolve
in business environments through 2012?
- How can IT leaders help their organizations define a
business-driven strategy?
- How do organizations translate business requirements into
effective plans?
