Untuk bootable startup disk dari 98 ada beberapa hal yang diperhatikan. Pertama file IO.SYS MSDOS.SYS COMMAND.COM itu adalah mutlak bisa dilakukan dengan perintah sys c: a: setelah itu anda butuh file HIMEM.SYS, dan EMM386.exe sebagai file untuk memory extended, setelah itu anda membutuhkan autoexec.bat dan config.sys sebagai file startup. Jika anda ingin supaya bisa CDROM anda harus copy file OAKCDROM.SYS sebagai driver cdrom di DOS dan MSCDEX untuk mounting CDROM . Dan satu file yang sangat berpengaruh untuk cache harddisk ialah smartdrive.exe
Setelah itu anda harus mengedit Autoexec.bat dan Config.sys dengan uraian sebagai berikut Config.Sys Device=a:\himem.sys Device=a:\emm386.exe noems DOS=high,UMB DeviceHigh=A:\oakcdrom.sys /d:mydrive Autoexec.bat @echo off set path=a:\ LH a:\mscdex.exe /D:mydrive a:\smartdrive.exe doskey cls Itu cara manual ingin cara yang automatic membuat cd cari cd windows 98 cd ketik perintah setup /? cari perintah untuk buat bootdisk, atau ketik perintah makeboot. untuk yang dalam bentuk image cari di internet. terus download.
