mdadm itu software RAID driver di Linux, jadi tidak semata Gentoo saja. Dari message /dev/md2 sudah I/O error, berarti ada kerusakan di hard disk anda. Dulunya mungkin satu hard disk sudah rusak dan RAID jatuh ke dalam degraded mode tapi tidak ada yang aware dan menggantinya dengan hard disk yang baru, lalu ketika hard disk kedua ikutan error juga ya tinggal masuk kubur.
