1 - Yes. Not all fonts are born equal. If you need the HK extensions you'll
need the Adobe fonts for Acrobat 5.0. The font name is "MSungStd-Light" and
the encoding "UniCNS-UCS2-H" or "Identity-H" depending if you need to get
all characters or just the Unicode ones.

2 - I suspect that the font only has the special HK characters. One of the
characters "\uf3a0" is even in the private use area.
