In my efforts to evaluate iText as a PDF API, I'm finding that going from a creative design (like from an Art Director) to Java code, and making it look even remotely close, is an arduous process. Is anyone else having to deal with issues like this? Or is everyone else just using iText for simple table-based report generation?
The intent here is to produce a PDF document, on the fly that corresponds to choices a web site visitor made while visiting a client's site. This will allow them to configure a product, and go away with a portable and printable document that shows through text and imagery what their total interest was.
So far, through experimentation, I have been able to come roughly close to what the art director wants to see, but not near close enough to get any sort of signoff.
Thanks, Andrew
