Hi, I'm using iText and I think it's a very rich API - great work. Until now I thought it's only possible to create the complete PDF via the API. That was a little drawback, because doing page layout with iText is not as easy as with other programs like Word, etc. Now I read the article at onJava and at the end there was a hint that you can create a PDF with a program of your choice and use iText to make it dynamic:
"At my day job, we used iText in combination with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. First, our team designed a shipment form using Microsoft Word. Next, we converted the Word document to PDF using Adobe Acrobat. Then, using iText's template capability, we loaded the PDF file into our application. From there, it was quite easy to fill in data values on the form and output the final PDF document." I searched for this feature in the tutorial but I haven't fount it. Can somebody tell me where to find more information on this capabilities? A little tutorial would be great.
