Hi all,

I'm developing an application which creates PDF files. To
automatically test this application, I'd need to compare PDF
documents, i.e. compare the current output of the app to once
created and verified reference files. Unfortunately two PDF
files seem to be never binary equal, even if they look the same
on the screen or on paper.

Is it possible to compare two files with iText? I read the
chapter about reading pages to add header or footer or so. Can
the ContentBytes or so be used to reliably compare two files?
What I need to confirm are the formats, the content but not
invisible attributes like timestamp or name of creator --
simply: both must look the same on paper or on screen.

Thanks in advance.

Andreas
