Hi;

I just ran some performance tests on my program Windward Reports. It creates rtf, html, & txt as well as pdf output. It uses iText for pdf. It does not use iText for formatting - everything is via calls to PdfContentByte.

When I run 1,000, 10,000, & 100,000 reports writing the result in rtf, html, or txt format - the heap memory used is the same - as expected.

However, the more pdf reports I create, the larger my heap usage. I do not hang on to any iText objects between generating each report.

Any ideas?

thanks - dave
