Hello fellow iText users.
I have created a PDF file using iText. The file is 35 MB large and has over 29,970 bookmarks. The entire file was created using iText in two steps. First the original file was created with iText without the bookmarks and saved, then this file was reopened with iText and the bookmarks were added along with a table of contents. (Actually, the table of contents and bookmarks were created first and then the original file was appended to create the final file).
The following actions will crash Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (windows 2000):
1 open the file.
2 click on the plus next to the 2nd bookmark. (the plus that expands the bookmark)
3 adobe crashes
The following actions will not crash Adobe Acrobat 5.0
1 open the file
2 select the bookmark (but don't click on the plus)
3 click the "Expand bookmark" button on the bookmark pane.
4 the bookmark will expand after a few seconds.
5 After this has been done you can click on the plus/minus to expand/collapse the bookmark without any crashing.
Furthermore I have generated approx. 20 PDF's with my program ranging in size from 10 kB to 85 MB. Two of these PDF's crash, one is 35 MB the other is 65 MB. If anyone wants a copy of the PDF file that crashes Adobe please send me an email. I would be grateful for any help!
