Subject: [iText-questions] Adding Images as TransparentDoes anyone know where I can find documentation for the method
Image.setTransparency(new int[]) - I want to know what different values in
the int[] would mean.I am currently using the method to make the white background of images
transparent before I add them to the document. The following normally
works: Image.setTransparency(new int[] { 255, 255 }); but I don't know why,
and it doesn't all the time! Thanks in advance,
Dan Criddle

Title: RE: [iText-questions] Adding Images as Transparent
Thanks for your
reply. I am amazed and impressed by your personal attention to this free
product.
For other iText
users' info, the arguments into the setTransparency must be pairs of
integers representing the range of colours you want made transparent (eg,
new int[] {min, max, min, max, min, max}).. So in a 8-bit, 1-colour
colourspace (ie. black and white), putting in { 255, 255 } will make every white
pixel transparent, while {127, 255} will make all the medium to white pixels
transparent. In an 8-bit RGB colourspace, {255, 255, 255, 255, 255, 255}
will set all the white pixels transparent. Please not I haven't fully
tested this, but its how I believe it works.
A useful page on
colour space and different file types is:
