There was a discussion about this topic some time ago. The solutions were:
- print with Acrobat 5
- upgrade your printer's firmware to postscript 2
- buy a new printer
The problem is that PS1 does not support binary encoding, only ASCII. PS2 drivers may use binary encoding to make the files smaller, specially with images.

Subject: [iText-questions] Print with postscript Level2
Hi
I have problems printing my servlet generated PDF on printers using
postscript driver.
The problem is printing in level 2, on level 1 it prints fine. AR6 doesn't
support level 1 anymore.
Everything else prints ok, but when i add image into pdf, it doesn't print
anymore.
I would appreciate any help because i can't avoid using AR6 or postscript
driver.
lp
Roman
