Thank you so much for all the help!

I'm still having a few minor problems though, when I tried your code, most of
the text were overlapping.
This was not very obvious when dealing with numbers, but was very noticeable
when writing other characters.

Would you know of a possible workaround for this?

That's just helvetica with fixed width of 400. Create the font like
this:

BaseFont bf = BaseFont.createFont("Helvetica", "winansi", false, false,
null, null);
int widths[] = bf.getWidths();
for (int k = 0; k < widths.length; ++k) {
    if (widths[k] != 0)
        widths[k] = 400;
}
bf.setForceWidthsOutput(true);

The only problem here is that the font name is still Helvetica and it
can confuse some readers. I'll have a way to change the font name in the
next version.
