I saw the patch but I won't apply it. The reasons
are:
- it's incompatible with jdk 1.1
- the fonts are already cached
You are right in that the look for cjk property
files is done with each access and I've fixed that to look for them only
once.
If you have a different usage pattern we can talk about it
for some other solution.

Hi All,
I recently submitted a patch to the sourceforge page. It introduces a memory sensitive resource cache into the BaseFont class which speeds up PDF generation of iText 1.02b a great deal. As I'm not sure what the patch submission guidelines are (I could not find any or maybe I looked over them ;-) I thought I'd post it on the mailing list. For anyone interested check it out.
