Is there any way to take a PDF that uses TrueType fonts that are not embedded, figure out what fonts are used in the file, and then embed those TT fonts in the PDF?
Yes, but it means your having a VERY indepth understanding of both the TrueType font format and the PDF file format - as there are a variety of potential "got yahs" in trying to implement "post production font embedding".
You do know there are tools that can do this already, right?
