I don't care if this is not working on every machine. It would be enough if it works on the machines I am interested in. In that way I talk about "closed systems". Thank you for the hint anyway.
OK - just wanted to make sure you knew the limitations up front.
Things like subsetstapling and switching inputtrays are interesting enough for me to do a little bit research in this direction.
If anybody has made experiences then it would be interesting to hear about it.
First thing is to check your Acrobat preferences to make sure you have "Pass through Postscript enabled". I believe its on the General panel. Until you do that, everything else is a waste of time.
Second, check the PDF Reference as there are two types of PS XObjects - one is of type /PS the other is a /Form with Subtype /PS2 (I think that's it - not looking at the Ref at the moment).
As long as you follow the PDFRef, they do work - I have some samples in my collection that work fine when all is enabled.
