Hi all,

I've seen in the mail archives that one can remove the XFA from a Acrobat 7 form to make filling of the form possible. And it works too. But I've also seen one nasty side effect: The client-side JavaScript in the PDF goes missing.

Is there any way to preserve the JavaScript in the document after having removed the XFA form?

If not, is there a way to re-add the JS to the form in a way that it'll work?

Secondly:

When setting Full Compression, the obvious happens, the pdf doesn't work with older versions of Reader.

But I have seen some products that support "compression" in a way that the pdf's still work with older readers.

Now here is what I want to know: "Full Compression" implies that there are some lower forms of compression. Are there? Is this normally applied automatically because all readers support it? etc. I don't see much in the docs about this. Just the ability to "set full compression".

Thanks for the help and time.
Chris.
