What you ask is impossible with iText and very, very difficult to do.Hi there,
I am a developer working in java on a project in which i am required to highlight/underline existing Pdf files. To start with, I first created a Pdf File by using itext. THen i was able to modify it too by using line and circle functions of the itext lib. but the problem is that i don't have access to individual words. that is their location and what the word is. I have also used pdfBox lib to extract the text, but that too extracts all the text not giving me the info of each word. I need the location of specific words so that i can perform lexical analysis on them and then modify. Hope this is a bit clear... Can anyone help me on this.. i have been stuck for a while reading the Pdf Refrance doc.. but still no sol. for the prob. Are there other libraries present that would provide me with these word location parameters.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tell your employer PDF was meant to be a READ-ONLY document format.
With iText you can only do this kind of stuff if you are creating the document
from scratch or if you want to change form fields.
