The answer still applies. To seach the doc you need to extract first the text.

I already have the document scanned into PDF format (I can supply a small part of it if you want) and although it is images it is text searchable (at least with acrobat). I do not need to extract text as such, just search the document and publish the single page where a match is found. Does your answer still apply?
