[iText-questions] backwards compatibility

Hi,   I just want to know if itext 1.3.1 is backwards compatible with all applications using an earlier itext library. I have an older app using RReport and itext (not sure which version – from 2003 approximately) to create some pdf’s. I updated the itext version to 1.3.1 (because I am using jasperreports now), and my old app no longer functions with this newer itext jar. Can it be that it’s not fully backwards compatible?   thanks
