Thanks guys - I'm almost there... I just can't seem to work out the best way to get the PDFAnnotation in... I know it's bad - I don't have much OO experience. I will be eternally grateful for a couple of suggestions - even though I know there are far better things for you to be doing! OK. So I create a class that extends PdfPageEventHelper that implements onGenericTag and I assign this to my writer. Alas, I am a bit lost after that :-(. Do I need to subclass something else? Basically, the desired output needs to look like : From: Anton To: Henry, John, etc. cc: other people Subject: None of any interest Attachments: pic1.tif, pic2.tif, pic3.tif Because there may be lots of Tos and CCs I don't know the Ys and because the names are of variable length I don't know the Xs of the rectangles. So I wanted to add Chunks with with PDFAnnotations. It seems as though I can find the rectangle sort of with the onGenericTag but I can't see how I can reference the Chunk or the annotation to give it the right rectangle. I will keep playing but if you have any pointers they are much appreciated!
