please forgive me if the last message was a little confusing, but i dont get any exception from itext when i generate the PDF document in the browser,

You still confuse us: what is 'generating PDF in the browser'?
To me, it sounds like you have an HTML page with an applet that generates PDF.
You probably mean you are generating a PDF file on a server.
In that case, you should look for exceptions in the server log files,
not in the browser.

the plugins says that the document is damaged and cant be repaired, that is all i got from the acroread plugin, installed in the browser,

Then you have to save this PDF file so that it can be inspected.
Otherwise nobody can see what is going wrong.
Maybe your server is sending an error message in HTML.
Then it's evident that the document is considered 'damaged'
by Adobe Reader. It's not even PDF, it's just HTML.

i am using mozilla firefox v 1.07 on linux suse 10, also i trid with IE (6.029.x) on windowsXP SP2, in both plattforms i am using acrobat reader 7, i tried with other images, png, gif, jpegs, with some work and wtih some other dont , why ? i dont know ,

In our projects it works, so there is no way we can know
why it doesn't work for you.

i cound find an anwser for this, i also trid to save the image file in the server and generate and pdf referencing this image, tried this using the path of th file, and i got the same

You have completely lost me now. Instead of sending the PDF to the browser,
try writing it to a file on the server first and see if the file is valid there.
You SHOULD see an exception if something goes wrong, but:
- either you are eating the exception in a catch-phrase
- or you aren't looking at the (right) log file on your server

Bruno
