Yes, probably there's a bug in reader, or something they changed. But I'm using itext to merge the data with the pdf. If i open the xfdf directly without using itext to do the merging, all appears to be ok.

I have read your question superficially and it seems off-topic to me.
You write that something works with most versions of Acrobat
and Adobe Reader, except for one specific version.
To me, it looks as if you are describing a bug in one specific
version of Adobe Reader. In that case, it's not an iText problem.
That can explain why nobody is answering. You are probably
posting this question on the wrong forum.
