the compression we need is for reducing the redundant fonts in the file. it counts to almost 64% of the file size.. also we use  a large number of single pdfs, stamp them with data and then merging those pdfs to form a single pdf file.

        iText won't help you in that case - it doesn't have any support for eliminating redundant fonts.  You will need a professional PDF optimization solution such as PDF Enhancer.
