I need to "flatten" the naming hierarchy of fields in a PDF. E.G. Top.Middle.Lower to Top_Middle_Lower. Is there an easy way to do this?
I don't think there's an easy way as Top.Middle.Lower is a constructed name. The field with name Lower is the kid of a field with name Middle which has a field with name Top as parent. You would need to retrieve all the field information (this is possible with iText), then flatten the file (possible), then construct new fields/annotations and add them to the PDF (possible with iText). I don't think iText does this by default if you use renameField. br, Bruno ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
